Introduced in 1994, BioWheels Workshop rolled out as a service-oriented pro shop in Clifton’s Gaslight District.  Nearly 25 years later and now based in Madeira, BioWheels has a long-standing history of outstanding professional service on all makes and models of high-performance bicycles.  With our background, our specialty is making road and triathlon bikes ready for a big event. We've prepared bikes for Ironman World Championships, Cyclocross World Championships, Cyclocross Pan American Championships, Road Nationals, Cyclocross Nationals, and countless Ironman events around the world.  We also are busy keeping high mileage bikes riding better than ever. BioWheels Service Manager Nathan Mirus is a 15 year service veteran at BioWheels with an amazing eye for detail and the finest collection of personal bicycle tools in the region. BioWheels general manager David Bordewisch (previous service manager for BikeFix & WheelieFun) is a 20-year veteran master mechanic with a history of servicing professional athletes and teams.  BioWheels has 1000 square feet dedicated specifically to the service area - with work stations that house an impressive array of tools and parts to keep any of today's high-performance bicycles dialed in.

 

Service rates

  • B-Level semi-annual service (recommended once in-season) - detailing of bicycle with inspection and adjustments as needed to gears, brakes, bearings, rims: $175 for labor. It is common that we will recommend replacing worn parts while bicycle is in for service (tires, chain, cables, bar tape, etc) and average tune-ups with parts run $300-400.

  • A-Level annual service (recommend once in the off-season) - detailed overhaul of bicycle with complete strip-down, creak removal, hydraulic and electronic service as needed, inspection and adjustment to entire bicycle: $275 for labor.  It is common that we will recommend replacing worn parts while bicycle is in for service (tires, chain, cables, bar tape, etc) and average tune-ups with parts run $300-400.

  • Additional ala carte service (tubular or tubeless tire install, wheel-building, hydraulic brake service, electronic drivetrain diagnostic) are available upon request. Minimum labor charge for worked performed is $25.
